GetUp: Adani continues to play in the dark over Abbot Point

GetUp Senior Campaigner, Sam Regester, says Fairfax Media revelations into Adani’s questionable lobbying techniques are another sign the Indian mining giant is choosing to play in the dark.

“With more information continuing to come to light, it’s clear to see that Adani would rather keep its economically unviable operations hidden away than let in the light of public judgement,” he said.

“With high profile former staffers and advisors from both sides of the political fence on your side, it’s a shady practice to get people on your payroll to start scratching the right backs.”

“If Adani is operating with the blinds pulled shut at this early stage, it’s terrifying to think what they will do if they win over the right people.”
