A small tech company has received a $20,000 grant that will be used to revolutionise Perth’s parcel delivery service.

Epic Delivery” is the brainchild of budding Perth entrepreneur, Ryan O’Sullivan who has identified a gap in the city’s courier market.

Mr O’Sullivan said online shopping had created an unprecedented demand for express delivery of purchases, especially those made by busy professionals who don’t want the hassle of missed deliveries or rescheduling.

“Epic Delivery’s mobile phone application enables users to request virtually anything they want,” said Mr O’Sullivan.

“By linking the customer to our network of on-demand runners, their requests can be fulfilled and delivered to their doorstep within an hour.”

The app will go live in several Perth suburbs over the coming week with more than 200 runners already registering their interest to be part of the platform.

The grant was made available through Beyond Bank’s Community Entrepreneur Program which encourages and supports entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas.

Beyond Bank wants to do everything it can to create jobs and stimulate the economy,” said General Manager, Community Development, Peter Rutter.

“Through this program we have been able to see some really great ideas get the backing they need and deserve.

“Perth clearly has a lot of young innovators and we were overwhelmed with the quality of entries but Epic Delivery stood out as a business on the cusp of tremendous success and we can’t wait to watch its progress.”
