Sydney, July 31 2015 - CarAdvice.com.au, Australia’s leading independent source of automotive media content, has announced the three finalists of a competition offering Aussies the chance to win a dream job as the CarAdvice Correspondent.

Doug McDougal  (NSW), Mandy Turner (VIC) and Anton van Schalkwyk (QLD) will be treated to a VIP stay in Sydney over the weekend of August 15-16 during which they will be put through a series of training sessions and challenges in front of the competition’s judges CarAdvice founder Alborz Fallah, former World Rally Championship driver Chris Atkinson, TV presenter and car enthusiast Lauren Phillips, and CarAdvice associate publisher James Ward.

The Correspondent final will include training in motoring journalism, presentation skills and driving tips, while the challenges will include filming a car review, attending a mock motor show press conference and driving skills.

The winner will be crowned The Correspondent and will commence a three-month[1] paid job working as a motoring journalist for CarAdvice. They will also receive an all expenses paid trip to the Tokyo motor show (courtesy of Mazda) to report on all the news for CarAdvice.com.au. As part of the final auditions, the contestants will be among the first people in Australia to test drive and review the new Mazda MX-5.

“Everyone at CarAdvice is doing their dream job and we are all continually asked how people can get a job here. This gave us the idea to throw the doors open and help us find strong new talent with The CarAdvice Correspondent competition,” CarAdvice CEO Andrew Beecher said.

“We’ve been agonising over picking the finalists as we’ve been blown away by the quality of the applications and commitment by some people in their entries. So much so, we’ve actually added some more categories and prizes to acknowledge some of the creative and deserving talent out there. There are also some people we’ll be in touch with to offer freelance opportunities. All in all, we’re delighted with the campaign.”
