Announcement posted by Internet Awards 2005 29 Jul 2005
The Internet Awards has launched for 2005, inviting entries to be submitted until 22 August 2005. Now in their eighth year, the Internet Awards are the highlight of the online advertising industry calendar.
The Internet Awards 2005 will recognise and reward outstanding innovation, creativity and results for online advertising and marketing initiatives carried out from 1 July 2004 to 31 July 2005. This year the Awards will be split into just five categories covering online creative, integration with offline campaigns, media strategy for a new product launch, online promotion and online media strategy.
The winners will be announced on 27 October 2005 at the Internet Awards 2005
According to the newly appointed Chairman of Judges, Patty Keegan, this year the awards will continue to showcase outstanding online innovation and reflect the positive market growth.
I am delighted to join the Internet Awards as Chairman of Judges in 2005. This year marks the evolution of an awards ceremony that started out as a celebration for a few online creative innovators to todays Awards which are a well respected, mainstream event.
We are looking forward to a record number of entries and while I expect to continue to see innovation in these entries I also anticipate more focus on the successful business returns the campaigns have achieved. This is, after all, the benchmark by which the industry is judged by its customers, said Ms Keegan.
The Internet Awards 2004 Best of Show Winner, eMitch believes that this year there will be greater involvement from large agencies representing blue chip clients.
eMitch has certainly seen larger blue chip companies from across FMCG, retail and service industries redefining their campaigns to include an online component. The Internet Awards is a great benchmark for the online industry and this year I expect it will showcase an industry that has really started to mature, said eMitchs Chris Brinkworth.
Mr Brinkworth also believes the power of online is also being discovered by companies who had been struggling to find new ways to reach their markets.
Advances in technology such as ability to breakdown age, sex and interests have also helped advertisers touch very specific markets that they have previously found difficult to reach. The ability to generate highly targeted campaigns is something that is drawing advertisers and their clients to the online medium.
