E-journal developed by undergraduate attracts high profile attention

The second issue of FACULTY Magazine for 2015 is out at 10am Tuesday 25th of August.

The e-journal established by QUT and CSU undergraduate Nathan Watts, has seen great success over the last three issues and are excited to announce this will be their biggest issue yet!

“We have 19 different contributors and over 50 pages of content!” Nathan Watts Director of the Magazine states.

This issue see some extremely influential people in both the national and international education community submitting their works.

  • Professor Sue Trinidad the Director of the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) and her colleague Dr Kitty Drok submit a piece on the access and participation in higher education.

Notably the journal has been true to its core value of promoting undergraduate work, as Director Nathan Watts explains.

“I started the magazine with the aim to give undergraduates of education a voice in the wider education community, last year when I was an undergraduate studying a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) I noticed that the student voice was under-represented and FACULTY, was the means to give us a voice. Now, in my final 8 months of my degree and studying (on the side) an Associate’s Degree in Adult and Vocational Education through Charles Sturt University, I am proud to see what the journal has become. It has become a community of practice between academics, practitioners, professionals and undergraduate students. The response has been fantastic!”

This current issue sees four articles by three undergraduates, two of which who study their Bachelor’s Degree at QUT.

In the past, FACULTY has seen the support of the education community and are continuing to encourage undergraduate to contribute to the journal.

Faculty is a free e-journal with a focus on Australian Education, its first issue was release 25th of July 2014, this issue is the fourth of the magazine.
