SYDNEY  — November 17, 2015 —hybris, an SAP company and provider of omni-channel customer engagement and commerce solutions, today announced it was among the select companies that Forrester invited to participate in its November 11, 2015 evaluation, “The Forrester Wave™: Subscription Billing Platforms, Q4 2015.” In this evaluation, hybris was cited as a leader among subscription billing platform vendors.

According to the Forrester Subscription Billing Platforms Report, hybris is one of three vendors that “go head-to-head in opportunities at both mid-market and enterprise firms and in both B2C and B2B monetisation scenarios … have a significant arsenal of reference enterprise clients … [and] has developed core industry vertical expertise in sectors such as IOT, healthcare, and telco.” The report also noted that “hybris Billing has some unique capabilities such as a pricing simulation tool, which runs on SAP HANA and allows firms to optimise pricing strategies and test and simulate new business models against historical customer usage trends.”

According to the report, the hybris Billing platform is “well suited for B2B quote-to-cash scenarios, [and] the solution also has a number of B2C deployments that commonly leverage a differentiated capability to manage revenue share with partners, including the payout of partner commissions in a marketplace of app and content partners, or to channel partners.”

In the report, one customer reference cited, “we haven’t yet seen a billing/rating scenario it can’t handle.”

The report also stated that “hybris Billing will be a fit for large global enterprises with multiple product lines and complex subscription billing requirements.” Specifically, “the solution has a diverse customer base across industry verticals that include not only high-tech and telecommunications but also retail, financial services, professional services, transportation and logistics.” The report also stated that “the solution comes with large reference accounts that are in some cases processing extreme volumes of subscription transactions and associated revenue.”

hybris Billing customer, Adobe, has experienced success with business model change first hand, stating: "As a global leader in digital media and digital marketing solutions, Adobe has transitioned over the past three years from a software license business into a SaaS business in order to better serve our customers for our Creative Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Document Cloud solutions," said Larry Casey, Senior Director of Channel, Enterprise, Platform Services at Adobe Systems Inc. "We use hybris Billing to engage our enterprise Digital Marketing customers for usage-based charging, to provide easy-to-understand invoicing, and we have achieved quick on-boarding of our different multi-billion dollar product lines onto the platform. hybris Billing is truly architected with the needs of the digital enterprise in mind and we couldn’t agree more with the company’s recognition in this report."

“In today’s hyper-connected world, customers demand to be engaged in experiences, which means that enterprises must monetise the new services-based business models that deliver on those ongoing experiences,” said Brian Walker, chief strategy officer, SAP hybris. “The hybris Billing solution extends the capabilities of our customer engagement and commerce platform to help businesses become agile enough to meet the rapidly changing needs for new customer-centric business models, both today and into the future.”

hybris believes that this report is indicative of an important trend emerging in the industry as digital transformation drives business model change towards subscription billing. As enterprises look to take advantage of new digital businesses and to optimise customer experiences, it’s imperative that the billing engine be easy to use and manage, agile, flexible and scalable enough to quickly adapt to new scenarios and new revenue streams. Enterprises rely on billing solutions to create a transparent customer experience, build trust with their customers and support key business decisions and processes.
