YourScene Photo Booths Take Advantage Of New Trend

Announcement posted by YourScene 17 Nov 2015

The old is new again: Photo booths and prints are back in a big way, except this time it's all about riding the selfie and social media wave
This generation loves to take selfies and digitally share their experiences with friends and loved ones, but increasingly are looking to have something "real" they can cherish forever. As evidence of this trend, an American start-up called GrooveBook prints your phone and Instagram pictures and creates a photo album for a monthly subscription. The company was recently acquired by Shutterfly for a whopping US$14.5 million, proving the traditional photograph is back in fashion for generation Y.

Instagram is still one of the world's fastest-growing social media platforms, and YourScene founders Martin Pham and Nina Nguyen have spotted an opportunity in the Australian market to utilise this new technology to re-invent the instant print photo booth and make it a social media sensation for any occasion.

"We originally started as a photo booth company which is now quite commonplace at most weddings, though recently we have seen a massive rise in our more innovative services such as our Instagram printer Tag'N'Print Box",  says Martin.

The high-tech Tag'N'Print box allows guests to get instant print-outs of photos taken on their phone, by posting the image on Instagram or Twitter, using a unique hashtag.

Corporates are also seeing the benefits of having these next-generation services at their events. Big brands such as Google, Ansto and Coach have taken advantage of this new "photo marketing" space to increase their brand exposure and connect with their customers.

Communications Manager at Coach, Juanita Chrisostomos commented "We used the Tag'N'Print service to launch one of our new design lines at a Coach store in Melbourne which proved to be very successful. VIP guests were engaging with our hashtag on Instagram in return for a printed selfie. It's important for us to always look out for new ideas that will help us better engage with our online audience".

YourScene has seen phenomenal demand for its services, and now operates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“The tired photo booth has become the new social booth, adding an extra dimension to events, and turning the digital into the memorable.” says Nina.
