Bit9 + Carbon Black opens Australian office

Announcement posted by PR Deadlines 26 Nov 2015

SYDNEY—November 26, 2015—Bit9® + Carbon Black®, the leader in Next-Generation Endpoint Security, today announced the opening of its Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) headquarters in Singapore, along with sales offices in Australia and other key countries in the region.

Bit9 + Carbon Black, which IDC recently named the market share leader in next-gen endpoint security, is making significant investments in APJ, where industries ranging from high-tech to mining are demanding advanced protection against threat actors and attacks that target their endpoints.

“The network is not the target of cyber attacks. The target is an organisation’s endpoints—desktops, laptops and servers, including ATMs and point-of-sale systems—which hold the information that cyber criminals, nation-states and hacktivists are so eager to obtain, destroy or monetise,” said Kane Lightowler, Bit9 + Carbon Black’s managing director for Asia-Pacific and Japan.

“With more than a decade of experience helping customers of all types and sizes to ‘Arm Their Endpoints,’ Bit9 + Carbon Black is committed to bringing the benefits of our innovative solutions—the Bit9 Security Platform and Carbon Black—to organisations throughout this rapidly growing region.”

Lightowler, a security-minded technologist with an acumen for business development in the APJ region, previously led both Imperva and Tumbleweed to significant expansions in the region.

“Across Asia-Pacific and Japan, organisations are making information security a top priority and a core business function,” Lightowler said. “Now, these organisations have the opportunity to leverage the power of Bit9 + Carbon Black’s offerings versus relying on ineffective antivirus or new, unproven endpoint products.”
