Australian Startup partners with Major Media to help locals find Services

Technology Startup Service Central has partnered with one of Australia and New Zealand's largest media companies, Australian Regional Media (a division of APN) to make it easy for consumers to connect with local businesses.

Service Central provides unique match-making technology that connects consumers that require services with local businesses that are ready and willing to provide those services. Consumers simply post a Job Request online, and pre-qualified businesses are notified of the opportunity via SMS and Email. Up to three businesses can respond to each Job Request and contact the consumer to provide a competitive quote.


The whole process is quick, simple and easy. It helps consumers avoid the pain of having to make phone call after phone call to find the right local business for their job. Similarly, it helps businesses quickly and easily connect with local consumers that are looking for the exact services that they provide.


Australian Regional Media (ARM) operates over 60 long established local newspapers throughout Australia, including 12 daily newspapers. Furthermore, ARM operate over 30 market leading daily news websites that are extremely popular across Northern New South Wales and Queensland. Overall, between their print and online activities, ARM connects with over 1.3 Million consumers each week.


Australian Regional Media are bringing both consumers and local businesses to the partnership. On the consumer front they bring massive reach and expertise in how to best communicate to their audience. This has resulted in a comprehensive marketing campaign that includes everything from full page print advertisements to native content and well placed online widgets. In regards to local businesses, ARM has a long-term relationship with thousands of local trades and service businesses who advertise through their local newspaper group. Each of these businesses have been offered a Service Central membership to help them connect with more local consumers and grow their businesses.


A key element of this alliance is the development of 32 new websites specifically focused on each of the regional markets. These websites provide consumers with an easy place to post job requests and connect with local businesses.
