Gateway responds to historically low interest rates, with some fixed rate home loan options dropping by 50 basis points

Sydney, Australia – Gateway Credit Union has today announced a significant rate reduction across its fixed rate home loan terms. The price reduction has been applied to its 1, 2 and 3 year fixed rate home loans, with some rates dropping by up to 50 basis points. 

With interest rates at an all time low, borrowers are seeking to take advantage of the good times by locking in a fixed rate. Gateway’s 1 year fixed Premium Package, has been reduced to 4.09% p.a. (4.97% comparison rate), with effect 15 December 2015. This special offer is available for new owner-occupier home loans, principal and interest repayments with a loan to value ratio up to 80%. 

“We have noticed a spike in demand from borrowers enquiring about fixed rate home loans. With mortgage holders looking to take advantage of current market conditions, Gateway has responded by reviewing and reducing the pricing on a range of fixed rate home loans. This means some of our products have dropped by up to 50 basis points, creating a significant saving for the borrower” said Paul Thomas, CEO of Gateway Credit Union.
