BEYOND BANK AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCES MAJOR SUPPORT FOR BUSHFIRE VICTIMS

Announcement posted by Beyond Bank Australia 11 Jan 2016

Beyond Bank Australia donates $25,000
Beyond Bank Australia will donate $25,000 to the St Vincent DePaul Society of Western Australia to assist residents devastated by bushfires in the State’s southwest.

The funding will ensure that those in urgent need of support receive the assistance they require at this time, particularly in the gutted township of Yarloop where the fire has all but wiped it off the map.

“Our thoughts are with the victims, their friends, families and everyone who is affected by this disaster,” said Beyond Bank Australia CEO, Robert Keogh.

“While the immediate danger for locals is not over, the painful process of letting residents visit their homes to see what’s been lost has begun.

“It will be a gut wrenching time and Beyond Bank Australia will help provide support to affected residents during the rebuilding process.

“We encourage anyone who would like to add their support to visit a Beyond Bank Australia branch or call our Member Contact Centre on 13 25 85 with their donation.

“We also want to make sure that Beyond Bank Australia customers know we are here to help if they have been affected by the fires, and we’re encouraging them to come and talk to us if they are concerned about their financial situation due to losses suffered in the blaze.”

It is expected that the recovery effort could be a long road ahead especially for the residents who have not only lost their homes, possessions but in many cases, their livelihoods.

“It’s at times like this we always see so many amazing people pulling together to help others,” said Mr Keogh.

“There have already been countless demonstrations where we have seen exactly that and I am sure we will see many more as the community comes together to support each other.”
