Wayne Schmidt Joins BPO Connect’s Advisory Board

MELBOURNE, 29 January 2016 — Accounting industry maverick Wayne Schmidt is the latest big name appointment to BPO Connect’s Board of Directors in the past week.

The global business transformation provider announced Mr. Schmidt’s appointment as Non-Executive Director just days after also appointing Mr. Alexis Indrajith Lovell to its board.

“What makes Wayne so special is his unparalleled insight into the accounting industry as advisor and coach to accounting practices across Australia,” said BPO Connect CEO Arjuna Samarakoon.

Mr. Schmidt has more than 28 years of experience in the accounting industry.

“Wayne launched Xero in Australia in 2009 and also held executive positions at MYOB and Reckon,” said Mr. Samarakoon.

Mr. Schmidt has a unique global understanding of accounting firms, having worked with firms in the U.S.A., the U.K., Australia and China.

“It’s about how accounting practices can scale, leveraging technology and global resources.”
