New Managing Director at LEGATOSystemsheralds the start of increased investment in Australia.

On the 23 June 2003, LEGATO Systems will welcome on board Mr Stephen Lloyd-Jonesas Managing Director for Australia / New Zealand. Mr Lloyd-Jones succeeds Mr Scott Phillips, who takes on new executive challenges within the company.

Legato has reached a critical mass in this region winning many new accounts and entering new markets with our email management and Information Life Cycle approach to records and business documents, said Mr Donald Choing, Vice President, General Manager, Intercontinental Operations. Stephens appointment is a major demonstration to our customers and partners of the increased investment LEGATO will be making in this region. He brings a level of experience and qualification that we need to double our business in the short term.

Mr Lloyd-Jones sales and management experience spans over 12 years in general management with leading IT companies in Australia. Most recently, Mr Lloyd-Jones was theDirector and General Manager of MRO Software for Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this,Lloyd-Jones was Queensland State Manager for SAP (May 1994 June 1999) and played a key role in the companys business development in Queensland, establishing it as the largest packaged applications vendor for the state. In particular, he was responsible for the sale of SAPs R/3 application to the Queensland State Government, which was the first major sale to the public sector globally and the largest sale in Australia at that time.

At an earlier stage in his career, Lloyd-Jones was appointed Manager of Manufacturing Solutions Division for Cincom Systems where, amongst other successes he was responsible for the project package implementation for Siemens Plessy Electronics.

Alongside his educational credentials (BSc Physics, MBA and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors), Lloyd-Jones holds professional memberships with organisations including the Australian Institute of Management, Australian Institute of Company Directors, Australian Institute of Material Management, Logistics Management Association and Australian Production and Inventory Control Societies.

Scott Phillips will be assuming new duties in managing the expansion of LEGATOs email and other application specific storage management solutions, working with Microsoft, HP, EMC and other major partners. He will be reporting to Stephen.
