New travel website makes supporting great causes a holiday

Announcement posted by Zbreaks 04 Feb 2016

Several hundred hotels and charitable organisations have partnered with a new Australian venture that could potentially channel millions of dollars to charity.
The accommodation booking website Zbreaks (www.zbreaks.com.au) is the first of its kind in Australia. It was founded to tap into the average $15,000 Australian individuals plan to spend on travel each year; more than twice the global average.

Best of all, it doesn’t cost travellers or charities an extra cent to use this means of booking their next trip.

A percentage of the total booking cost is donated and distributed to charities by Zbreaks, with approximately 140 Australian charities and organisations already listed.

The process is simple - users visit www.zbreaks.com.au, select a charity or organisation to support, choose their preferred travel destination and dates, and then complete their booking at the hotel of their choice.

The founder of Zbreaks, Sylvia Johnston, said there is the potential for millions of dollars to be donated to worthwhile causes as people prefer to book accommodation online rather than through any other means. Charities and sporting clubs are finding it increasingly difficult to raise funds. Zbreaks removes that challenge completely.

“Without changing their usual routine, people can now book their holidays online at a more competitive price, whilst also donating money to a cause close to their hearts,” said Johnston.

“This donation comes from the marketing fee Zbreaks earns from the hotel for marketing their property and connecting them to the traveller, the guest pays no extra at all”

“Australians already lead the US and UK in our average annual travel spending per capita, so the potential is huge. Who doesn’t want to feel like they’ve done a good deed by booking a holiday?”

Zbreaks will be distributing funds to a wide variety of Australian charities.

With an ever growing list of hotels in Australia currently available to book, Zbreaks intends to expand their range of hotels and travel destinations as demand grows.

The Zbreaks concept also welcomes other not-for-profit organisations to sign up and fundraise for their group, such as school P&C committees, surf lifesaving clubs, and sporting clubs.

- HOW DOES ZBREAKS WORK? -
Booking a holiday with Zbreaks is simple and secure with no registration required. Travellers visit www.zbreaks.com.au and begin by specifying their holiday destination, stay dates, and selecting their preferred charity or organisation to support. Users then complete their accommodation
booking with one of the many hotels listed.

The accommodation rates on Zbreaks reflect each hotel’s own direct booking rate, ensuring travellers receive the best available prices of the day.

A percentage of every booking made by the traveller is then donated to their charity of choice by Zbreaks.

The Zbreaks website is securely encrypted ensuring users can book their accommodation with the confidence that their information is protected. Zbreaks also handles no money whatsoever, so the customer truly is dealing direct with the accommodation provider.

- TRANSPARENT FUNDRAISING -
Zbreaks distributes a percentage of the total booking cost to the selected recipient. Organisations can login and view any accommodation bookings made in support of their charity or group using their unique log in, allowing them to view the total value of donations accumulated.

Zbreaks is not exclusive to national charities, with opportunities for local groups and clubs to also participate in fundraising. Organisations who sign up at p.zbreaks.com.au are provided with various promotional resources to assist with their efforts, including QR codes and a “book now” button for their website.

- CHARITIES ON LAUNCH -
At time of going to press, there are currently 140 Australian charities and organisations available to support when booking accommodation through Zbreaks. Ongoing, Zbreaks travellers will be encouraged to request their favourite charities and organisations to be added, allowing for a wider choice to suit everyone.
