Founder of PVBS and hope dealer releases first book, Let There Be Darkness

Eric Agyeman, founder of PVBS and hope dealer, is celebrating another achievement with the release of his first book, Let There Be Darkness.

“It’s been a real eye-opening experience, writing a book that details my journey and forces me to go back to my roots. Growing up in poverty in Ghana, reading books wasn’t something we did each day so writing one is a real milestone,” said Mr Agyeman.

Let There Be Darkness is my story and explores how I transformed my darkest moments into light. My observations as an active speaker over the last few years highlighted the need for a raw, honest book that gave young people hope in those dark times we all have.”

Mr Agyeman officially launched his debut book last Saturday at Montanasa Studios in Melbourne, an event that primarily acted as a thank-you to those who supported the crowdfunding campaign that enabled this story to be told.

“The book sheds light on issues such as suicide prevention, youth/student leadership and how dreams really can come true. It’s not always an easy read but everything comes straight from the heart,” said Mr Agyeman.

Living in poverty as a teen, Mr Agyeman witnessed first-hand how kids in Ghana in West Africa didn’t have access to basic educational needs and schooling. He responded by embarking on a daring mission to create change with a focus on enabling kids to access clothing and education.

In 2010, Mr Agyeman founded PVBS, a social enterprise he runs today with his wife, Sandy. PVBS sells customised clothing with proceeds donated to regions such as Ghana.
