Campaign for Australian Aid comment on ministry makeover

The Campaign for Australian Aid has congratulated Steven Ciobo and Concetta Fierravanti-Wells on their promotions announced today in a Cabinet reshuffle.

“Firstly, we congratulate Steven Ciobo on his promotion to cabinet and his new trade portfolio,” said the Campaign Director for the Campaign for Australian Aid, Tony Milne.

“Additionally, we congratulate Concetta Fierravanti-Wells who will take over the key Minister for International Development and the Pacific portfolio.”

Mr Milne added that Campaign for Australian Aid is looking forward to working with Ms Fierravanti-Wells and celebrating the important role Australian Aid plays in ending extreme poverty and supporting our global neighbours.

“Reversing the scheduled $220m cut to aid scheduled for the 2016/2017 budget should be a priority focus on our path to repairing the aid budget,” said Mr Milne.
