Game of Thrones (GOT) star Hafthor Bjornsson who plays “The Mountain” in the world wide hit TV show arrives in Melbourne on Thursday 17th March to compete for US$50,000 in The Arnold Strongman World Championships at Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tony Doherty’s multi sports event , the Arnold Classic at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).
Hafthor, or Thor to his friends, has been Iceland’s strongest man for 5 years, Europe’s strongest man for 2 years and is currently ranked number 2 for World’s Strongest Man. He is also the World’s Strongest Viking breaking a 1,000 year old record by carrying a 650kg log for 5 steps. The previous record holder Orm Storlfsson broke his back doing it a millennium ago.
His visit to Australia will be orgasmic for GOT fans. They’ll be able to see him compete all day Friday 18 March and Saturday 19th March at the Arnold Classic at the MCEC including the grand final on Saturday night . Tickets are available at www.arnoldclassic.com.au

Thor’s character in GOT is Gregor “The Mountain That Rides” Clegane. He’s the Strongest man in Westeros and is famous for this quote :- “Elia Martell! I killed her children. Then I raped her.
