AirBnb-style website PetCloud officially begins National Roll Out as it looks to change the landscape of the Pet Care Industry with RSPCA

Announcement posted by PetCloud 21 Mar 2016

DESCRIBED as an Airbnb-style service for pets, a new website is aiming to help pet owners find accommodation for their companion animals no matter how last minute.

Pet Cloud is a Brisbane-based company that was created to fill the growing need in the pet boarding market for affordable and local pet accommodation.

The only pet sitting company in Australia to be partnered with the RSPCA, the PetCloud website links owners with trusted local pet sitters — and there’s no cages in sight.  Both owners and sitters post profiles on the site, and can search for a match based on the pet’s location of care, exercise and food preferences as well as the sitter’s interests, other pets, availability, nightly boarding rate and even view pictures of their backyard.

On average, most PetCloud Sitters charge around $40 per day for pet sitting, with the ability to offer additional services such as dog walking, grooming, overnight stays, or round trips to the Vet. “I think it is a really good idea because they are much more comfortable in a home environment & working Pet Owners can be short of time,” Pet Sitter Kerrie Miller says.  Kerrie is offering her pet sitting services through the website.

Over 20,000 fans have liked & followed PetCloud across social media since it officially went live in April this year and the service is in demand and growing.

Forming an exclusive partnership with RSPCA across most States, PetCloud is also the only Pet Home Care Service to have RSPCA Accredited Sitters through PetCloud’s Learning portal.

According to the Australian Animal Companion Council, the pet population of Australia is estimated to be 33 million, this includes 4.2 million dogs and 2.35 million cats. The remainder is made up of fish, birds and other pets (including rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small animals).

Together, PetCloud & RSPCA have harnessed this opportunity to innovate the pet industry, through intuitive technology that addresses pet care convenience through every aspect of their partnership.

PetCloud will be helping pet parents increase the level of care for their pets, and will offer comprehensive Pet Sitter insurance for stays booked through PetCloud, for claims up to $20M through their Insurance provider.

PetCloud will allow members to keep their pet's life all in one place including:

·        Geo-location Pet Tracking Collars

·        Advanced search filters

·        Calendar

·        Verification of Pet Sitters, including optional Background and Animal Cruelty History Checks

“Too many other sites out there didn’t have compliance checks and basically their sign up process was “Do you have 2 arms and 2 legs? Great! You can be a Pet Sitter!”  What the other Pet Sitting companies don’t realise is that you are actually taking care of someone’s furry family member and some are even opening up their homes to Sitters who they don’t know while they’re away. We make it mandatory for a Pet Sitter to have a National Police background check before they are allowed inside an Owner’s home – another stand out point of difference, ” said Deborah.

“We were impressed with their professionalism,” continued Mark Townend, CEO of RSPCA Qld. “They conducted round tables with our Vets, Animal Trainers, Foster Carers, and Inspectors, and worked through processes, discussed Backyard Safety and developed Checklists and have developed an RSPCA Qld Accredited Online Pet Sitting course and training videos. It is designed to equip Sitters with all they need to know while taking care of pets as a Pet Sitter.”
