Announcement posted by Teknowledge software 25 Mar 2016

Teks Mobile Sverige recently announced the dates and itinerary of Deal With Droid - a five-day Android training workshop. It will be held alongside the iOS-Con 2016 event.

As expected, Teks Mobile Sverige - a leading mobile app company in Sweden - has announced the dates of a dedicated Android workshop in Kistamassan. The dates (9-13 May) coincide with those of the iOS training workshop, which was announced a few days earlier.

The 5-day Android workshop event - named Deal With Droid 2016 - will be hosted at Kistamassan Torshamnsgatan, and is expected to address all pertinent issues related to making mobile applications on this platform. A well-placed source from Teks Mobile highlighted that learning and networking opportunities will be present in equal measure at the workshop.

Several globally renowned mobile app entrepreneurs have been invited as guest speakers, at the Android workshop. During a brief tete-a-tete, Ms. Maria Bergstrom (head of the Teks Mobile Sverige team) looked back on how she had chalked out the overall itinerary of the event. Ensuring that all attendees benefitted from attending the workshop is of essence, she iterated - and all arrangements have been made for the same.

A glance through the lineup of events at Deal With Droid 2016 makes it fairly clear as to why this would certainly be a workshop worth attending for aspiring Android app developers. The proceedings kickstart on the 9th of May, with a brief introduction of the Android platform. Topics related to application structure shall be taken up next, followed by a session on DDMS and Logcat Usage. Day 2 of the event picks up the trail, with interactive sessions on mobile UI designing, resolution and density dependence, imageviews, webviews, and a host of other topics. Delegates interested in taking up Android app designing as a profession have the chance to learn a lot from these sessions.

Ms. Bergstrom briefly touched upon the sessions/modules on the remaining days of the Android workshop as well. Examples of Adapters, Listviews and Gridviews will be discussed in the morning session of May 11, followed by separate modules on Database Sqlite and Tab activities. Threads and Handlers, Broadcast Receivers Alarms and Asynctask are the main topics under the spotlight on the next day. On the final day of Deal With Droid 2016, attendees will be acquainted with fragments, exception handling, and Android app testing & debugging methods.

To help attendees (students from leading tech universities in Sweden will be present, along with professional visitors) get a first-hand feel about Android app development, live demonstrations have also been included in the workshop itinerary. On the first day, a special session named ‘My First Android Application’ will be hosted. On the next day, another demo session - Second Application (focusing on event-driven programming) will be organized. Some time will be set aside each day for Q & A sessions.

The timings of Deal With Droid 2016 is 09:00 to 17:30 (all days), with two 30 minute recesses and an hour-long lunch break. In a bid to keep the workshop focused and professionally oriented, the total number of delegates at the event has been limited at 20. Teks Mobile Sverige has already started accepting online registrations. The registration fee is SEK 20000/person, and the last date of registration is April 25.
