Modifying cars has always been about making cars perform better than stock! Imagine a classic 1971 XY Falcon that goes faster and is more economical than a new XR8, now you can build one! RRS, innovative car parts manufacturer, announce the “Thunderbolt Engine Swap”, allowing classic Ford (Mustang, Falcon etc.) owners to fit the light weight, high tech, XS Aluminator 2016 Mustang motor from Ford Racing.
In 1964 Ford America released the Thunderbolt Fairlane, a purpose built factory experimental car. Ford made 100 of these 7.0L lightweight cars “to race” and a legend was born. RRS have chosen the Thunderbolt name to spearhead their charge into the next level of modifying cars.
As cars have evolved from road wandering steering boxes to precision rack & pinion, from leaf spring horse & buggy suspension, to today’s responsive suspension, from drum brakes to disc brakes. RRS has created reliable innovative solutions to retro fit to classic cars, allowing high performance, enjoyable safe driving.
Over the last 16 years RRS have created a range of products that reduce bump steer, eliminate roll understeer, create faster turning ratio, easy dial adjustable shock settings, products to increase engine bay space, strengthen the chassis reducing beaming & torsioning.
In 2007 RRS pioneered the Modular V8 engine swap into a 1967 Ford Mustang, winning “Most Innovative Design” at SEMA.
In 2015 RRS pioneered the turbo 6 & ZF 6 speed gearbox into a 1984 Ford LTD.
In 2016 RRS are again at the cutting edge, producing the components to fit the XS Aluminator motor series into classic Australian and US early Ford cars.
