LexisNexis partners with best-in-market to release Lexis Draft Pro

Announcement posted by LexisNexis Australia 14 Apr 2016

Integrating with leading global software to build an innovative solution that meets customer needs in a competitive landscape

Sydney, 13 April: LexisNexis® Legal & Professional, a leading provider of content and technology solutions has announced its additional partnerships with Microsystems EagleEye and WordRake into Lexis® Draft Pro, the industry-leading legal drafting and review software. Lexis Draft Pro is now the first solution in-market that integrates practical technology and legal content to impact the quality of a legal document, mitigate risk and automate traditional proofreading approaches.

After undertaking extensive market research, LexisNexis recognised a need for technology to improve legal writing. Finding that 85% of legal practitioners were looking to technology to improve efficiency and address mundane tasks, such as drafting (Lexis Drafting Survey, 2014). This required a range of diverse tools to come together into one solution, creating the Lexis Draft toolkit that brings innovation and practical software to the lawyer’s desktop.

“We are determined to improve the lives of our clients to enable them to focus on the most important tasks, as well as improve the quality and accuracy of their legal documents,” says Glenn Cooksley, Head of Drafting at LexisNexis Pacific.

“Lexis Draft Pro builds on analytical software developed by LexisNexis in conjunction with Microsoft to deliver a solution with the busy lawyer in mind. We are proud to integrate the quality of software from the likes of Microsystems and WordRake into one quality software for our customer’s ease-of use.”

“Our vision at WordRake is to provide everyone a personal writing editor. Partnering with LexisNexis helps achieve this by helping legal practitioners create clear and concise briefs, reports, contracts, and memoranda,” said Jim Figel, WordRake CEO.

David Cook, VP Product Development of Microsystems, added, “EagleEye’s groundbreaking Artificial Document Intelligence enhances a lawyer’s judgement, eliminates tedious tasks and naturally complements the innovative, industry-leading drafting capabilities native to LexisDraft Pro.”

This integration adds two additional trusted partners into the drafting software toolkit following the successful initial integration with Nuance and Microsoft. Microsytems EagleEye is added for proofreading and document quality checking, whilst Wordrake improves sentence construction and readability with a single click. Lexis Draft Pro integrates these technologies with the authoritative content, citations and references of LexisNexis into one consolidated solution to increase productivity, mitigate risk and improve quality of legal documents to give clients a competitive advantage by leveraging technology for this purpose.
