Australian building franchise Hotondo Homes were excited to release their brand new 3DExplore tool on their website earlier this year. The innovative ‘virtual tour’ utilises the latest in camera technology providing customers the opportunity to walk through every Hotondo Homes display home in Australia.
The technology itself was developed by American 3D platform Matterport with Hotondo Homes launching the tool in early January. Since its release 3DExplore has seen over 29,000 visitors with customers loving the new feature.
Hotondo Homes Managing Director Michael Renwick believes the new development is the perfect way to continue improving the Hotondo Homes’ customer experience.
“We know how hard it is to look at a floor plan and get the feel of a home, 3DExplore helps bridge that gap,” Michael said.
“With franchises across Australia our customers now have the opportunity to walk through a home in Queensland from the comfort of their couch in Victoria.”
Three different views are available for each home including ‘first person’ allowing viewers to virtually walk through the home, ‘floor plan’ providing a bird’s eye view of the design and ‘dollhouse’ allowing users to zoom out and see a complete 3D view of the home.
As one of the few Australian builders who provide ‘virtual tours’ of display homes Hotondo Homes are pleased to help lead the way in utilising new technology.
“We’re living in a digital world, we’ve done our research and recognised a need in the market,” Michael said.
“We understand choosing the right design can become extremely time-consuming, 3DExplore can help customers find a design they love before even walking out the door.”
One of the greatest benefits of the technology is you can tour the display homes long after they are closed. This provides customers the opportunity to browse through a design any time they please.
