Manheim New Zealand Re-appointed by IAG

IAG has confirmed the re-appointment of automotive auctioneering company Manheim, as their preferred supplier to dispose of their written off vehicles. As New Zealand’s largest insurance company, IAG’s contract for the disposal of damaged vehicles is the largest of its type in the country.

The five year contract will see Manheim continue to auction IAG’s written off vehicles (including truck and machinery) through a combination of online sales and physical auctions utilising their operations in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington as well as a comprehensive network of storage locations located around the country.

Manheim’s CEO, Campbell Jones, was clearly delighted by the re-appointment.  “The decision by IAG to re-appoint Manheim as their preferred supplier sends a clear signal to the market about our credibility and our capability. The fact that they have also awarded us preferred supplier status for their truck and machinery business is especially pleasing.”

“Over the past three years we have worked closely with IAG and delivered a range of innovative disposal services which are unique in the New Zealand market place. By evolving our service delivery to continually meet IAG’s needs, we have been able to provide them with a compelling case to extend our partnership for another 5 years.”

Manheim was re-appointed following a competitive tender for IAG’s business. The company specialises in the sale of vehicles (including damaged vehicles), trucks, machinery, plant and equipment to trade and private buyers, selling on behalf of customers such as insurance companies, leasing and finance companies, local government and vehicle manufacturers and dealers.

Campbell concluded, “We understand the local market and by listening to IAG’s requirements, we have been able to offer a national solution that fully caters to their needs. Our highly innovative approach combined with our ease to do business with and our ability to maximise their returns, was clearly an appealing proposition.”
