Key hires and platform improvements set the stage for accelerated global growth
Sydney, Australia – 28 April 2016: Local Measure, the leading location-based social platform today announced the appointment of James Hunt, Vice President of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

The appointment caps off a busy three months for the Australian-based start-up, who have added almost 20 staff over the last year, along with a series of product enhancements to increase the reporting and user experience of its location-based social media intelligence software.

As VP of ANZ, James will be responsible for accelerating the region’s growth and spearheading customer acquisition, working closely with Jonathan Barouch, CEO and Founder, and Sara Axelrod, COO.

“James has more than 15 years of sales, and marketing experience and brings to the table a mix of strong commercial acumen, exceptional leadership skills and start-up experience which is a key part of driving Local Measure’s success in ANZ ,” said Jonathan.

“The opportunity that social media creates is immense and we are dedicated to hiring the best talents on the ground to ensure we can fully meet the requirements across the diverse markets where we have presence. With James on board, Local Measure will be targeting to double ANZ revenue by the end of the year and further penetrate the South Pacific market.”

James joins Local Measure from real estate start-up Hello, where he was Marketing and Business Development Director. Prior to Hello, he held various roles with HH Global, a London-based marketing services powerhouse, since 2001. Some of his most notable achievements include launching HH Global’s marketing and communications division, and establishing a highly successful sales team that won multi-million dollar contracts with blue-chip clients.

“There’s never been a better time to work in this space given the prevalence of social media and digital disruption that's taking place across the majority of industry sectors,” said James Hunt, Vice President, ANZ.

“What Local Measure can deliver in terms of technology and social media intelligence resonated strongly with me. Coupled with an outstanding calibre of staff from engineers through to the leadership team, the company offers a compelling value proposition for brands who want to improve customer experience, drive brand loyalty and build real-time data insights. Already armed with a sizeable international business footprint of globally recognised brands, I look forward to building on Local Measure's business in ANZ.”

Jonathan said the new product enhancements to its location-based intelligence tools would enable Local Measure to meet the increasing demand for real-time local customer insights.

“Social media continues to offer opportunities for brands to connect directly with their customers to provide real time service, better understand their preferences as well as drive customer loyalty and advocacy. Local Measure’s unique location-based view allows organisations to zoom in to any business location and understand what is happening with their customers live.”

Local Measure’s new reporting capabilities provide head office customers with detailed data and analytics on their customers, how the business engages with their clients and the digital effectiveness of their front line teams. The product and engineering teams have a full roadmap for the rest of the calendar year continuing to build out the proprietary intelligence and data analytics that powers the platform.
