This little Aussie App. ‘Maths Rockx’, created by ex-teacher and mum of two, Jo Otto, is literally changing children’s attitudes to learning their times tables and increasing their abilities dramatically, all while they're having a blast!
The App’s title “Maths Rockx: Times Tables + Rocking Tunes = Teaching You” speaks for itself. The times tables are sung to some of the biggest hits from some of the world’s best artists. There are tracks from; P!NK, Pharrell Williams, Lady Gaga, One Direction, will-i-am and Kelly Clarkson. Furthermore, the music production in this App is outstanding.
“Kids are actually excited about doing maths for a change!” says Jo. “The app is taking teachers, children and their parents by storm. The reaction so far has been astounding - especially with the speed in which the children are learning. It couldn't have come at a better time with NAPLAN exams just around the corner.”

Jo Otto, Director Maths Rockx Jo Otto was a primary school teacher for 15 years, teaching every grade and loved her job. Her teaching strategy for children to learn their times tables, was to sing them to rock songs. It was so much fun and it always worked, really, REALLY well. Jo left teaching to start her own family. When it was time to go back to work she had to make a decision - go back into the classroom or follow her dream, which was to give every child the opportunity to learn their times tables the way she taught them - because it works, and the children love it!

I bought this for my eldest son who is about to go into year 2 and is starting to learn his tables. He really enjoys it and has said it makes learning the tables so easy. My middle child absolutely loves this app and asks to listen to Maths Rockx every time we get in the car. He already knows his 2, 11 and 12 times tables and he is not yet at school. I have only recently found this app however I am already in love! My kids (9 and 5) and I just had a sing-a-long in the dark lol then they wanted it playing while they fell asleep. My son (9) has NEVER showed an interest in his times tables before! He was even doing the quizzes! Thank you x – Casey Bawden
This app is amazing! The kids love it and I found them singing when it wasn't even playing! I have year 1 students doing their tables because of these great songs :)) Seeing results in maths in only 2 weeks makes one very happy teacher!!
