Celebrity Chef Simon Gault Demonstrates IBM Watson’s Cognitive Food Creativity at Certus Event

Announcement posted by Sphere Public Relations 15 Jun 2016

Certus Shows How to “Disrupt Like a Start-Up” Using Powerful Data-Driven Insights & Engaging Customer Experiences

Certus Solutions, a leading IBM systems integrator in Australia and New Zealand, will host a series of “Accelerate” events later this month featuring TV personality and celebrity chef, Simon Gault, who will talk about how technology has disrupted his industry. Simon has been exploring IBM Watson’s analytical approach to food creativity, and he will be leading the Certus Food Hack - where attendees will see if IBM Watson can create recipes that match human creativity. There will be an interactive cooking demonstration to give people a taste of technological disruption.

Also speaking at the Certus Accelerate events in Wellington and Auckland at the end of June, is technology futurist and expert in digital disruption, David Mast, head of Asia Pacific Sales at IBM's new Platform as a Service, Bluemix. David has witnessed firsthand how traditional organisations can transform themselves through disruptive technologies and business models and in his session, he will share his blueprint to becoming a disruptive market force.

“With a spate of recent global Kiwi success stories like Xero, Vend, Carnival Mobile, PikPok and Voyager Internet – larger New Zealand enterprises are taking notice of start-ups like never before. Many big businesses are throwing down the gauntlet to their employees to enable them to disrupt like a start-up with seed funds, incubators and stints in co-working spaces,” said Brian Allen, CEO, Certus Solutions.

Most businesses are now confronted with the reality that tomorrow's customers, markets and business models will be very different from today's. Both internal and external customers are becoming more discerning and demanding rich, personalised and interactive experiences. To meet these needs organisations will need to blend user centric design experiences with deep data insights, augmented by artificial intelligence and cognitive computing. At these events, traditional businesses will gain an understanding of what technologies will be the real disrupters and how their organisation can develop a strategy to capitalise on this market in transition.

There will be three streams, designed to help specific areas of business – be it asset intensive industries, customer focused analytics and design or business executives. Regardless of their focus, attendees will receive an in-depth overview of the technologies, business practices and strategies that are transforming each industry.

For any businesses that want to know what disrupting like a start-up really means, the Certus Accelerate events will be held in Wellington on 22nd June at The Queens Wharf Ballroom or in Auckland on 29th June at The Sapphire Room, Ponsonby. Book free tickets here.
