WINGS PUBLIC RELATIONS SET TO SOAR IN AUSTRALIA

Announcement posted by Wings Public Relations Pty Ltd 22 Jun 2016

DEANNA NOTT'S NEW FIRM TAKES FLIGHT

Wings Public Relations has taken flight in Australia, with Deanna Nott’s departure from the nation’s fifth largest local government organisation, Logan City Council.

Noting a gap in the market, Nott has established Wings Public Relations on the Gold Coast.

“It’s been a wonderful honour to head up Logan’s Media and Communication team these past three years,” said Nott, whose team won the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s In-house PR team of the Year Award for Queensland in 2014.

“We have worked hard, battled hard for what is right and really put the City of Logan up in lights across the nation and even the world. Media who distrusted Logan are now friends and advocates for the city - we have changed the way people think about Logan and what it offers. All that said, I felt it was time to move on to pursue other interests.

“I have been considering the launch of my own firm for several years and with the Commonwealth Games on its way to our great city of the Gold Coast, I thought it was the right time to take off.”

With almost three decades of experience, Nott will be focused on developing and delivering innovative media, publicity and communication campaigns for private and public sector clients.

“My team and I understand how to build and protect reputation,” Nott said, noting she had also joined PRIA’s Registered Consultancies Group.

“Campaigns with an edge will be my niche – especially when working with all levels of government.”

Prior to her role at Logan City Council, Nott spent 20 years working as a communications specialist within the Department of Defence. Nott’s energy and expertise in the communication field has led to key roles in the public sector, including appointment as Aide-De-Camp to the Governor of South Australia.

Nott also serves as a Royal Australian Air Force Squadron Leader Reservist, joining in 1994. In November 2012 she was awarded an Australian Defence Force Silver Level Commendation for her efforts in promoting the benefits of Reserve service to the Australian community. In September 2014, she was appointed to the Public Relations Institute of Australia Queensland Council and is an active mentor and supporter of young PR specialists. Nott holds an undergraduate degree in Arts from Bond University, a Master of Defence Studies from the University of New South Wales and is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She sits on the Board of Common Ground Queensland, an organisation in Brisbane that aims to end homelessness.
