THIRD TIME’S A CHARM — STEP CHANGE’S GENERAL MANAGER NOMINATED FOR UNDER-30 ACHIEVER

Step Change’s General Manager nominated for the Under-30 category in the Mumbrella Awards 2016

Sydney, NSW — Step Change’s General Manager Adam Long, joined the ranks of the Under-30 finalists in the annual Mumbrella Awards, held on 30 June 2016 in the Star Event Centre.

Adam was also previously on Anthill’s Top 30Under30 Australian Entrepreneur for 2011 and 2012.

In 2011, he invested his savings in a 3D-printing startup called Beehive and was responsible for one of Australia’s first successful crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter — having earned $60,000 in new product sales in 30 days. The first working prototypes of the customisable 3D-printed eyewear caused a stir in the international scene. However, 3D printing at that time was a concept that was too early to succeed.

But that was just the beginning. In 2012, Adam took to the stage at a marketing conference his desire to join Step Change Marketing. As a result, he became the youngest strategist in the team. Constantly seeking to learn and step up, he was later named General Manager and Director of Step Change.

As Adam stepped up, so did the company: he was able to grow it from $900K to $4mil in revenue and from 5 to 31 people all over world. Step Change saw rapid expansion during his lead — with interstate presence in WA, SA, and QLD and Melbourne, Adelaide, and Auckland due for this year.

He has also taken Step Change beyond Aussie shores as he trained business owners and CEOs on marketing strategy in United Kingdom at Vistage and delivered a keynote speech at HP’s VIP Conference in Singapore — with over 550 attendees.

“Importantly, Adam has made his many achievements at Step Change while winning the trust and respect of both the junior and senior people in the organisation. He is as comfortable sitting down with a CEO and advising on the future of their business as he is mentoring an intern or coaching a graduate”, says Ashton Bishop, Australia’s Predatory Marketer and CEO of Step Change.

Lisa Watson, Chair of the Direct Marketing Association of Singapore, speaks about Adam’s speaking engagement in HP’s VIP Conference: “The feedback has been great, and people keep saying things like, ‘As that guy Adam said’, as a preface to a wonderfully insightful comment. Who could ask for a better result than that? Once again, a huge thank-you for your support at our VIP event in Singapore.”
