The Risk Management Institution of Australasia conference takes place on the 16th-18th of November 2016 at The Crowne Conference Centre in Melbourne.
 
The RMIA conference will be a conduit for ideas, debate, networking and discussion which will become part of the matrix for a better business environment in the Asia Pacific and the international risk community. Key risk industry conference.
 
General Manager, Suzanne Cureton says: “We expect a high level of attendance from delegates ranging from middle to senior risk management roles, across a broad spectrum of industries. The conference will host 400 delegates, 85 speakers and 20 exhibitors. There will be eight plenary sessions and five streams across a robust spectrum of emerging risk topics. Shannon Sedgwick, CEO, Global Media Risk
Shannon Sedgwick is a highly regarded risk consultant and media adviser with extensive experience in the Middle East and throughout Europe, USA and South East Asia. Shannon is regularly seen on national and international television and radio programs and expert panels discussing national security and terrorism and its effects on our society.
A consultant to large media firms, non-profits, schools and NGOs, Shannon’s most recent publications include Australia’s Jihadis, ISIS Recruitment Tactics, Active Shooter Incidents in America, and Journalist Safety: A Delicate Balance. Shannon has conducted operations in countries such as Syria, Iraq, Philippines, Thailand, Fukushima Japan, West Bank, Turkey, and Nepal. Global Media Risk is a US based risk consultancy firm with offices in Nevada and California USA, Sydney NSW and Singapore.
 
 
Alan Bardwell, Chief Risk Officer, ASX Limited
Mr. Bardwell has been Chief Risk Officer of ASX since July 2010. He is responsible for ASX’s Clearing Risk Policy, Clearing Risk Quantification, Clearing Risk Management, Portfolio Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit functions.
Mr. Bardwell was previously Chief Financial Officer at ASX, a role he commenced in December 2006.
Prior to that, Mr Bardwell worked globally in a variety of roles for Citigroup (joining in 1991 when it was Citibank), including Global Head of Market Risk Review, Asia Region Audit Director, and country CFO for Australian and New Zealand.
