Sydney, Australia – 3 August 2016 - Brother International Australia is proud to announce the rollout of two new retail models in the next generation range of ScanNCut. The CM350 is sold exclusively at Spotlight and the CM700 is sold in Lincraft and selected resellers. Both models launch into
store this month and feature a number of exciting upgrades.

Similar to  the CM900, the first next generation ScanNCut released through Authorised Brother dealers in late 2015, the new CM350 and CM700 Brother ScanNCut machines feature wireless network capability for instantaneous two-way connectivity using ScanNCut Canvas (Brother’s free
cloud based online software) and an additional port for quick PC import and export of design files.

A new compatibility upgrade from previous retail models of ScanNCut is the ability to now read SVG data – a universal design file format used in most graphic applications.

As the world’s first home hobby cutting machine with abuilt in
scanner, the scanning component of the new Brother retail models of ScanNCut has also received an inbuilt upgrade with RGB colour recognition when using the 300DPI scanning feature for direct cutting around images.

Sherene Grace, Marketing Manager, Home Sewing Machines at Brother International Australia said “Brother has invested significantly on driving the performance of our ScanNCut technology to deliver enhanced speed, efficiency and ease of use to consumers. We have changed the goal posts with the second generation of ScanNCut and are excited to be able to now offer these exciting upgrades with our two new retail models.”

Additional new features in the new retail ScanNCut models include a 30% larger screen for improved image viewing and editing capability in the CM350 model and compatibility on the CM700 with the 12” x 24” (30cm x  60cm) scanning mat for easy integration of large designs.

When Brother introduced the first ScanNCut to the market, the industry named the technology a show stopper. The original ScanNCut was awarded two of the most prestigious awards in the crafting and technology industries with an Innovation & Design Award at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and a unanimous vote for the #1 Most Creative Item at the Craft & Hobby Mega Show in Anaheim, USA by the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA).

The next generation of Brother’s ScanNCut range continues to provide users unlimited creative versatility but now with greater ease and efficiency. Scan anything seen, create any artwork desired, save it to the machines memory and produce endless cut and draw designs without using a computer or having to purchase a single cartridge,

Variety of Built-In Designs, Quilt Patterns and Fonts. Basic shapes, intricate designs, borders, quilt patterns, fonts and more are all available on the easy-to-use colour LCD touch screen display. Simply select a design, and then have it cut out on your material of choice. For even more variety in your creations, combine built-in designs or scan an image to create a one-of-a-kind design.

Direct Cut. Single Pass…See it, Cut it! No more fussy cutting! Relax, and let the ScanNCut do the work for you. With just a few simple steps, a printed image or an illustration can be scanned and the outline is detected which allows it to be cut out. This revolutionary feature will eliminate the hassle of hand-cutting designs from your favourite papers and fabrics!

Scan-to-Cut-Data. Scan and convert to cut data. Using the technology of the 300 DPI smart scanner, scan in your design and save it as a cut or draw file to use later. The ScanNCut will create cut lines automatically, and then within minutes, hand drawn elements can grace the pages of
your art work as a cut element or drawing with the assistance of the pen drawing feature.

Fabric Cut. Yes, it can cut fabric - easily! Cut precise fabric shapes with ease! Pair the draw function feature of drawing your seam allowance with the erasable pen, providing precise sewing guidelines – making sewing, quilting and applique projects easier to create.

Pen Draw. Creative Embellishment. Have you ever dreamt about adding custom drawings to your crafting projects? The ScanNCut gives you the ability to change your cut file – whether it’s from a previously scanned image or a built-in design, and replicate the design into a drawing in virtually seconds! With six coloured drawing pens and two erasable pens, you can now take all your sewing and crafting projects to the next level.
