Shopping Links Founder and Managing Director Kim Westwood to Speak at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

Announcement posted by Shopping Links 18 Aug 2016

Westwood, who has spoken previously at international Fashion Week events in the United States, will join a panel of leading industry experts in fashion, business and social media

Melbourne, Australia - August 18, 2016 - Kim Westwood, Founder & Managing Director of Shopping Links [www.shoppinglinks.com], Australia’s fastest-growing fashion-focused social media startups, will speak as part of an expert industry panel on September 1 during Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, which runs from August 26 to September 2. Joining Alyce Tran of The Daily Edited and Julia Stevanja of Stylerunner, Westwood will lead a discussion on Influencer and Brand Collaborations, offering insight into how brands and designers can effectively work with influencers.

Hosted by the RMIT Design Club, the panel is part of a series of industry discussions and networking events that will feature leading fashion, business, and social media experts in fields ranging from the Power of Digital Communication to Technology for Fashion. Conversations will cover practical topics like how to create clever digital content alongside more abstract discussions like what makes a runway come to life. Westwood’s discussion will focus on how brands can effectively expand their reach and awareness through influencers.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of this fantastic panel and to be able to share the insights I have gained while building Shopping Links,” said Westwood. “It’s such an exciting time for influencer marketing, and the opportunities for brands and influencers to productively work together are growing more and more each day. Anyone entering the fashion industry should be aware of influencers and the role they play in securing brand exposure.”

Shopping Links, which was launched in late 2014, works with hundreds of leading international brands, including Macy’s, Marks & Spencer, Topshop, Nasty Gal, REISS, Karen Millen, and Boden. Brands connect with a community of more than 10,000 carefully vetted influencers representing 103 countries through Shopping Links’ digital self-service platform, which allows them to select bloggers of varying levels of influence, from micro-influencers with a strong targeted niche to internationally recognized bloggers like Paola Alberdi, whose Instagram following exceeds 400k. (Shopping Links was instrumental in arranging for Paola to attend MBFWA last May in Sydney.) This cost-effective platform starts at $89 AUD per collaboration, allowing brands of all sizes, including startup designers to participate.

Shopping Links has also recently introduced a Managed Collaboration service to support both brands and social media agencies by adding the element many startups in the space are missing: professional insight. This service utilizes the Shopping Links team’s keen knowledge of its influencers and experience coordinating successful collaborations to guide brands toward achieving real results.

Westwood will address the advantages of a comprehensive influencer marketing service — encompassing both technology and professional experience — during the panel. Tickets are $15 AUD and available online at http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/promo/obq9pv
