Olympus LIVE has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner of the Australian Business Award for Business Innovation in 2016.

In 2014 Olympus Australia launched Olympus LIVE, a state-of-the-art experience centre that creates a new and innovative way of partnering with customers. This multifaceted facility offers a unique environment that works cohesively in both a showroom and hands-on training capacity, including a fully-integrated Operating Theatre and Micro-Imaging Laboratory.

The award recognises achievements in promoting excellence through innovative initiatives that have transformed business practices. Olympus Australia has been able to re-define its approach to customer relationships by adopting the Olympus LIVE facility and utilising it extensively to offer its customers simulated training, professional education services and access to the latest technologies

James Bowe, Managing Director (Olympus Australia and New Zealand) says the award affirms their commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

“Olympus is thrilled to be recognised by the Australian Business Awards. Our initiative has changed the way many of our customers carry out training and develop their people.

“Being just a box supplier – regardless of how technically superior your product may be, is no longer enough in today’s competitive markets. The investment we’ve made in Olympus LIVE demonstrates the commitment we have to provide a unique customer experience.

“Olympus LIVE allows our customers to experience the complete range of Olympus solutions in simulated environments. This means they can immerse themselves in the task of finding the solution to meet their needs without the distractions of their everyday workplace.

“Our dedicated training rooms within Olympus LIVE host several accredited training courses. We train the doctors, nurses, research scientists and industrial technicians of tomorrow. This offering means our customers can reduce training costs, increase the quality of training and lessen equipment repair costs”.

Olympus LIVE was designed firmly with Olympus’ customers in mind across Medical, Scientific and Industrial professions. Since implementing Olympus LIVE, Olympus Australia have successfully utilised the facility to partner with their customers to grow and support their business, hosting and supporting hundreds of customer initiatives.

“The positive impact we’ve witnessed across our business since the launch of Olympus LIVE has been remarkable.  It has allowed us to deliver a customer experience that is second-to-none and has resulted in Olympus supplying the right solution in the right environment more often.  The resulting increase in customer satisfaction has heightened our position in the Australian market and encouraged further investment in the region”.

“Olympus is here to help our customers build their future and Olympus LIVE has been perfect to support this lofty goal” explained James Bowe.

“For over a decade, The Australian Business Awards have recognised organisations that prioritise innovation and technology as drivers of local and international markets,” Australian Business Awards Program Director, Ms Tara Johnston, said.

“The ABA100 Winners have demonstrated a commitment to technologically transformative innovation through business initiatives that have propelled them to success in a highly competitive business environment. These organisations not only position themselves as industry leaders, but also push the wider business community towards excellence.

“Those organisations that can continue to evolve alongside ever changing business models will secure their longevity, continually contributing to the marketplace by disrupting the status quo in a positive way,” Ms Johnston added.

Each year the ABA100 Winners are recognised through a variety of different award categories that demonstrate transformative business and product innovation. Corporate, government and non-government organisations are recognised for their ability to drive innovation through the application of technical expertise in the management of industry leading initiatives, and for the research and development of high-performing products and services.

Initiatives are evaluated based on their transformative capacities via a detailed analysis of the method, execution, performance and outcomes of their initiative. A focus is placed on initiatives that have a demonstrable transformative effect both internally within the business and externally in the wider business community.
