‘TABLE TALK: FOOD IS MORE THAN FOOD’ DINNER

Announcement posted by Two Good Co 29 Sep 2016

TICKETS ON SALE NOW Thursday, 27 October 2016, 6:30pm – 10:30pm
Join four of Sydney’s top chefs for an uplifting not-for-profit dinner experience to remember, ‘Table Talk: Food is more than food’, at Carriageworks on Thursday, 27 October at 6.30pm.

The feel-good event, part of The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month, brings food-lovers together to share great food and ideas over a collaborative share menu prepared by Christine Manfield, Mitch Orr of Acme, Analiese Gregory of Bar Brosé, and Pasi Petanen of the recent Cafe Paci pop-up.

Guests will enjoy a nose-to-tail menu with meat from organic and sustainable butcher, Feather and Bone, and organic produce grown at Cana Farm in western Sydney, Fishtales fish, Pepe Saya butter and the freshest sourdough from the Bread and Butter Project, along with fine wines from our good mates at Young & Rashleigh, Bimbuden Wines, and MadFish, plus tasty brews from Young Henrys and delicious iced-tea from Ovvio Organic Teas.

All proceeds raised on the night will support Table, a Kings Cross-based not-for-profit collection of social outreach projects focused on bringing good food and good people together to make a difference. Projects include the Organic Soup Kitchen, Young Parent’s Cooking School, and GROW Horticultural Therapy Program.

Table Talk curator, Vanessa Watson, said: “We’re thrilled to have the support of Sydney’s hospitality and events community to create an extraordinary night of dining and discussion.

“We believe that food is much more than food. When we share food around a table, we also share our stories, our laughter, our ideas, and our love. Every person on this planet must eat – food is our universal medium to connect with one another”.

The exclusive evening will be hosted by MC and food personality Jill Duplex, and will feature a keynote address by Sydney Morning Herald columnist Elizabeth Farrelly. Singer Darren Percival will perform live and musician Linsey Pollack will wow guests with music from his infamous carrot-made clarinet, a highlight of the recent TedEX talks held in Sydney.

The never-to-be-repeated menu includes Analiese Gregory’s suckling pork terrine, pickles and rye bread; Pasi Petanen’s buttermilk roast lamb, Mitch Orr’s macaroni, and Christine Manfield’s eggplant, pomegranate, date molasses and goat curd, followed by a delectable selection of desserts.

Analiese Gregory, chef and co-owner, Bar Brosé said: “I'm excited to be joining Mitch, Christine and Pasi in the kitchen at Carriageworks to cook a banquet for the good people at Table – one of Bar Brose's closest neighbours. We share many passions, including rooftop gardening and helping the community we live in. I’ve been part of this community for the last eight years and I'm looking forward to giving back through the language I best understand – food.”

As well as food, talk and music, a live auction will be held on the night to sell bespoke tablecloths curated by BVN Architects, featuring original artwork designed by an amazing line up of Australian artists, including Anthony Lister, Antonia Pesenti, Craig and Karl, Craig Ruddy, Danie Mellor, Jim Tsinganos, Kim Leutwyler, Mika Utzon Popov, Megan Hess, Nell, and Yosi Messiah.

Table Talk is proudly supported by BVN Architects, Bimbuden Wines, Cana Farm, Carriageworks, Coconut Graphics, Davenport Campbell, Designworks, Electrolux, Feather and Bone, Fishtales, Kula Foods, Madfish, Ovvio Organic Teas, Pages Hire, Pepe Saya, Stacks of Wax, Stoddarts, Technical Event Services, Two Good Co, We Are Makedo, Young Henrys and Young & Rashleigh,.

Tickets are $150 per person (plus booking fees), including food and beverages, and are now on sale for at www.eventbrite.com.au.
