National Safe Work Month 2016

National Safe Work Month is held in October each year. The aim is to raise awareness about the importance of Workplace Health and Safety and encourage companies and individuals to commit to improving the way that they work, so that they can return home safely. National Safe Work Australia Week is from the 24th to 30th October. The following initiatives are taking place throughout Australia for the month of October:
SafeWork Australia
Safe Work Australia have the following information and resources available:
- a resource kit to help promote the month in your workplace
- you can enter the Workplace Participation Reward and showcase your workplace in their case studies
- watch Safe Work Month videos for work health and safety information and examples of how others have implemented safe work systems in their workplace
- keep up to date with the latest National Safe Work Month news by joining their subscription list.
Safety Month App
The Safe Work Australia Safety Month app allows you to view all the safety events being held during Safe Work Australia Month. You can also view statistics and Take 10@10 safety tasks!
The Safety Month app is available in the Apple App store and through Google Play by searching for “Safe Work Australia Safety Month”.

Work Safe Victoria’s website says that this year’s Health and Safety Month will focus on thinking beyond today and planning for the health and safety and return to work challenges of the future.
This is the 24th year of Work Safe Health and Safety Month. The state-wide program runs from Tuesday 4 October to 27 October 2016,
