Bec Judd teams up with Australia's leading online reading program

Announcement posted by Blake eLearning 07 Feb 2017

Rebecca Judd is the brand new face of ABC Reading Eggs - Australia’s leading online reading program for kids.

ABC Reading Eggs is proud to announce a new partnership with Aussie media personality Rebecca Judd, to kick off the new 2017 school year.

Judd, the popular TV and weather presenter, blogger, founder of beauty education business Beauty EDU and busy mum of four is helping promote the hugely popular online reading program. The goal is to inspire parents to encourage their children’s love of reading from an early age.

ABC Reading Eggs is the award-winning program that makes learning to read easy and fun. It uses a progressive sequence of highly interactive lessons, games, activities and e-books. The comprehensive program is designed by expert Australian educators and has been used by over 10 million children worldwide.

Judd, who is married to former AFL star Chris Judd, and is mum to Oscar, five, Billie, three, and twin sons Tom and Darcy, four months, will share the trials and tribulations of motherhood, as well as her own childrens experiences with ABC Reading Eggs.

As a former speech pathologist, the 34-year-old understands the value of children developing vital reading skills at a young age, and why its so important to brush up or extend those skills prior to beginning a new school year.

As a trained speech pathologist with experience in early literacy, I have seen firsthand the positive effects of being able to read at an early age, leading to success in the classroom, greater confidence, higher IQ and the flow on to more nimble and efficient cognitive processing across the lifespan.

Likewise, I have seen the effects poor literacy in the early years can have on a child, and the negative impact this can have across one’s life.

The evidence-based Reading Eggs program is fantastic and tackles all facets of learning to read by harnessing phonological awareness skills. It is fun, interactive, rewarding and my children love it!

Oscar has been enjoying challenging himself before he starts prep and Billie is having fun getting to know the different sounds of the English language before she embarks on three-year-old kinder. As she will be one of the youngest in her year level, the Reading Eggs program is giving her the best start.”

Katy Pike, lead publisher of the Reading Eggs program, says she’s excited to partner with Judd. “First of all, we were thrilled that Rebecca and her kids were already big fans of ABC Reading Eggs,” says Katy.

“Like many of us, Rebecca's a busy mum. She knows how important it is to find children's products that are proven to work and help kids in their development – not something they'll get bored with quickly and end up never using again.

"We’re really looking forward to joining forces with her to reach out to other Australian parents who want to give their children the best possible start in their reading.”

ABC Reading Eggs includes hundreds of one-on-one reading lessons that teach children essential early literacy skills, including phonics and sight word recognition. Parents can access detailed assessment reports to track their childs progress, and print out certificates and worksheets, which supplement the program.

Based on scientific research and the most up-to-date learning principles, ABC Reading Eggs uses a highly motivational reward system, which keeps children highly engaged while they learn to read. It also includes an online library of over 2000 childrens books to suit all reading levels.

Ms. Pike says many parents find it difficult to know where to start when it comes to teaching their kids to read.

ABC Reading Eggs is created to make a real difference at home, making it as easy as possible for children to learn the many skills they need to learn to read and further develop their comprehension, spelling, grammar and writing skills, she says.

As a mother of four, I know that its a wonderful journey to be part of. Watching your child enjoy that sense of achievement as they learn each new skill is always a pleasure.

Together with Rebecca, we hope to bring this incredibly special experience to every child and parent.

Parents can register online to start their five-week extended free trial of ABC Reading Eggs before 28th February 2017.
