This week brought another great milestone for Horizon Motorhomes as they completed their 600th motorhome sale and handover.

This week brought another great milestone for Horizon Motorhomes as they completed their 600th motorhome sale and handover. This is a proud moment for owner, Clayton Kearney and his staff at Horizon Motorhomes and BCMC (Ballina Campervan & Motorhome Centre), the sole dealer of Horizon, who between them take great pride in every aspect of the design, build, sales and after-sales of all Horizon Motorhomes that pass through the showroom.

The Horizon Motorhomes story began in the early nineties, when Clayton Kearney turned his love of motors and travelling into a career, and it was the beginning of a long quest to design the perfect motorhome.

John and Lynette Andersen of Toormina, Hervey Bay, purchased a Horizon Motorhomes Grevillea and collected it from Ballina on Tuesday February 7th, 2017.

To their surprise when they arrived they were delighted to not only see their beautiful motorhome, but were also announced as the 600th owner of a Horizon Motorhome with a congratulatory bottle of Chandon and a certificate showcasing the milestone.

John and Lynette have many years of travel experience on the road and decided to make the switch from a caravan to a motorhome for ease and convenience. It took more than 2 years of researching online, talking to Horizon Motorhome owners at caravan parks, attending tradeshows, phoning the showroom and eventually driving down the coast to meet the team in person, before deciding to go with the Horizon Grevillea.

The lovely couple said that they wanted something practical, with ample living space and enough height for John and his 6’1 frame to easily fit into.

Lynette noted, “It really is all about the quality for me. Nothing else we looked at compares to the customisation and craftsmanship put into all the important details of the Horizon vehicles. Every Horizon owner we spoke to was very pleased with their motorhome.”

John, who is President of the Hervey Bay Historical Village and Museum, agreed by saying, “The fact that they have been around for so long is very important to us, especially in regard to follow up service and upholding warranties. They have won so many awards recently, they are obviously doing something right.”

When asked what adventures they were planning in the Grevillea, Lynette said, “I’d like to get in our new Grevillea, drive to a junction and flip a coin: heads is left, tails is right and we can just see what happens.”

It was an emotional moment as Clayton and Mark handed over the keys. Lynette was holding back tears as she hugged both team members, thanking them for the support and helpfulness throughout the entire process. The team wished them all the best in their new chapter of life and agreed that after 47 years of marriage and travel on the road, John and Lynette must also be doing something right.

The sale of the Grevillea is another proud moment after a successful few years for Horizon Motorhomes. With the celebration of their 21st Anniversary in 2016, winning (Motorhome) Manufacturer of the Year (CCIA NSW) in 2015 and 2016, shortlisted as a finalist for Manufacturing Business of the Year at the Optus My Business awards in 2016, winning the Manufacturing & Innovation Award at the Ballina Business Awards in 2016 and finalists in the 2016 Northern Rivers Regional Business Awards in two categories: Trade, Construction, and Manufacturing and Excellence in Business.

Clayton said, “We are excited to see what 2017 will bring us, as we ramp up production capabilities in our new service and manufacturing site and look forward to the sale of our 700th motorhome.”

Horizon Motorhomes were established in 1995 by the current owner Clayton Kearney. They are designed and manufactured in Ballina, Northern NSW. There are currently eight models in the range, built into the Fiat Ducato and Mercedes Benz Sprinter base vehicles.
