The Adecco Group Expands Its Australian Footprint with New Recruitment Business

Announcement posted by Adecco 04 May 2017

Launches Spring Professional brand in Melbourne to cater to growing demand for knowledge workers in metropolitan areas
MELBOURNE, Australia – May 3, 2017: As the demand for knowledge workers in major Australian cities continues to rise, The Adecco Group, the world’s leading recruitment agency, has launched its Spring Professional brand in Australia. Headquartered in Melbourne, the latest arm brings a strong focus on mid to senior management and specialist roles, enabling the group to further diversify its business model, bolster market share, and ultimately reinforce its local presence.

With over 30 offices spanning both metropolitan and regional areas, The Adecco Group is one of the largest staffing providers in Australia. The introduction of Spring Professional – a global brand with a strong presence in the APAC region – signals a continuation of the Group’s global growth strategy.

At its core, the introduction of Spring Professional will allow the company to increase its focus on permanent staffing solutions for organisations seeking skilled labour in major Australian cities, where the white-collar job market continues to experience unprecedented growth post-mining boom.

“Australia’s transition into a knowledge-driven economy has created a knock-on effect on the skills required from the workforce of today and the future. In particular, it is generating significant demand for skilled white-collar professionals in Melbourne and Sydney,” said Richard Dunlop, Managing Director for Spring Professional in Australia. “Spring Professional’s entry into the Australian market is a key pillar of our overall expansion strategy, allowing us to tap into the opportunities brought about by rapidly evolving skills demands.”

“The ongoing technology disruptions in almost all industries will not only drive the demand for talent with multiple technical skillsets, but also those that can effectively combine technical skills with soft skills,” he added. “Finance with programming skills, marketing with digital skills, as well as experience working across multiple geographies, are some examples of the multiple skillsets we can expect more of.”

Spring Professional is bringing a boutique feel recruitment agency with the backing and resources of one of the world’s largest recruitment groups, The Adecco Group. The company is looking to innovative technology platforms to optimise services for its growing client base, raising the standards of care and bringing a level of consistency that’s currently lacking in the recruitment industry.

As part of the Australian launch, Spring Professional will predominantly focus on the finance and accounting, technology and digital, engineering and procurement and supply chains sectors – all of which are key recruitment growth sectors for the country, according to insights from The Adecco Group.

859 recruitment professionals currently work for the Spring Professional business, which is spread across 88 offices in 21 countries.

The move marks the start of a long-term investment plan into the Australian market, the 10th market to house Spring Professional in the Asia Pacific region and 19th globally to launch the Spring Professional business, joining the United Kingdom, France, Italy, China, Singapore and Japan, amongst others.

Looking ahead, Spring Professional is also looking to expand its presence into Sydney in the short-term.

Givile Mockute, CFO, The Adecco Group, said “At Adecco, we operate a network of brands, which allow us to reach a large client network across a number of industries and more importantly service our client needs with a specialised approach. Our strategic priority is to increase our geographical scope and become the clear leader within the permanent placement market, and we’re doing this by investing in the country with the launch of the “Spring Professional” brand. The initial investment will be in Melbourne with other state capital cities to follow next year.”
