Naomi Reiter named 2017 AIPP NSW Family Professional Photographer of the Year

Roseville photographer recognised by industry for outstanding innovation and creativity
Multi-award winning photographer, Naomi Reiter APP has been bestowed the prestigious title of 2017 AIPP NSW Family Professional Photographer of the Year at the AIPP NSW Epson Professional Photography Awards, held last week in Sydney.
The stunning award-winning portfolio by Roseville-based photographer showcased a beautiful collection of innovative family, newborn and maternity portraits. The prints received three silver awards and one silver with distinction award.
Naomi Reiter is an Accredited Professional Photographer specialising in family portraits and newborn photography.
She admits to being “completely blown away” by the honour at the annual industry awards. “I never imagined I would achieve such a momentous award for my work. All I want is to make people happy and create something really special they will treasure,” Reiter explained.
“Family is so important, and making time to have a photo together is too often overlooked.”
“I lost my dad very suddenly. At the time, I remember looking at the only professional family portrait we had on the wall and feeling enormous gratitude for that photo, and the memories it brought back. It inspires me to continue and strive to create the same for the families I photograph,” Reiter said.
“With portraits, especially kid’s portraits, I always aim to create a sense of playfulness to capture a spontaneous moment. I love to paint people’s personality in an image. It’s an awesome challenge!”
The 2017 AIPP NSW Epson Professional Photography Awards promote creativity and originality in image making, and recognise excellence in a range of photographic genres.

The national president of the AIPP, Vittorio Natoli, says the awards represent the best of the best of professional photography in Australia.
“These awards are a celebration of photographic excellence and represent the pinnacle of professional photography,” he says.
This year, there were 118 entries and a collective of 680 of images submitted for judging.
The awards were peer-judged anonymously over the course of two days by some of Australia’s most recognised photographers including Tony Hewitt, Steve Wise and Shireen Hammond.
