Announcement posted by Mave 29 Jun 2017

Company achieves its highest revenues to date as it expands into new markets, wins significant new business

Melbourne, Australia, 29 June 2017 -- Global Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics software vendor, Yellowfin, today announced it has appointed former Head of Procurement Operations from National Australia Bank (NAB), Brad Scarff, as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

As CTO, Brad will be responsible for product strategy and roadmaps, as well as aligning product development to organisational strategy. He will also oversee the improvement of Development and Release Management methodologies across the entire Yellowfin Business Intelligence platform.

“Brad is no stranger to Yellowfin having done strategy work with us in the past,” said Glen Rabie, founder and CEO of Yellowfin. “As a company, we have a 14-year history of growth and innovation and today find ourselves transforming rapidly into a true, large multinational. The timing is perfect for me to hand over Yellowfin’s product innovation leadership to someone as accomplished and capable as Brad.”

Prior to joining Yellowfin on 5 June, Brad held a tenured 20-year career at the National Australia Bank where he held numerous Business Intelligence roles including leading the BI Competency Centre in the Wholesale Bank, Lead Architect for Information Management and Program Director for the Bank’s NextGen Information Analytics Project. More recently Brad held a number of business roles in Finance and Operations – where he experienced first-hand the challenges of acquiring and utilising quality information and analytics.

According to Brad, his brief as CTO is to build Yellowfin into the best BI platform in the world.

“To achieve this, we will put our customers at the centre of everything we do. As both a developer of BI capability, and an end-user, I have built a strong understanding of how BI can drive the success of an organisation, but also the challenges associated with implementing solutions and driving user adoption.

“I believe that Yellowfin truly understands what is needed to make BI successful for customers. We have an exciting and visionary product roadmap that builds on our market leadership in collaboration and superior levels of user adoption. Yellowfin will continue to bring exciting and innovative solutions to the platform that create a more intuitive and enjoyable experience in consuming BI, whilst bringing greater analytical fire-power to the end-user,” said Brad.

Yellowfin swims upstream with growth

Yellowfin has continued its success in 2017 with its highest revenues to date and significant new customers wins.

“We’ve had an awesome year from a sales perspective,” said Glen Rabie, founder and CEO of Yellowfin. “It’s a great outcome that has been driven by exciting new customer wins such as Kodak, and large enterprise deals in all our key regions including the US, Europe and Asia Pacific. Our open and flexible architecture continues to contribute to our success in winning business with ISV customers who are looking for a great embeddable BI solution.”

“We also have a very strong pipeline of opportunity across banking and finance, so this is set to be an exciting sector for us over the coming year. Brad’s knowledge and expertise in the banking industry will contribute significantly to how we develop and position Yellowfin in addressing the needs of the finance sector,” said Glen.

Yellowfin has, for the fourth consecutive year, placed in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms in 2017. Additionally BARC, who run the world’s largest BI survey, ranked Yellowfin as the world’s best BI platform in a number of categories including innovation and collaboration.
