E-Cigarettes shown to Damage DNA leading to Cancer and Heart Disease

Announcement posted by Hypfocus Therapies and Training Hypnotherapy 08 Feb 2018

E-Cigarettes are not a harmless alternative to smoking cigarettes
In a recent report published to the National Academy of Sciences in the US has exploded the myth that e-cigarettes are harmless.  While it confirms the e-cigarettes are less harmful than smoking cigarettes, it has found that smoking e-cigarettes leads to DNA damage that compromises the immune system creating a greater susceptibility to Lung and Bladder Cancer as well as Heart Diseases.

This alarming discovery comes in the face of statistics that indicate that while some people have switched from smoking cigarettes to e-cigarettes (also known as vaping) thus reducing their risks,  that the perception that e-cigarettes are harmless has seen a dramatic rise in the number of young people using e-cigarettes.

The report states that "There is conclusive evidence that exposure to nicotine from e-cigarettes is highly variable and depends on the characteristics of the device and the e-liquid, as well as on how the device is operated, and that There is substantial evidence that nicotine intake from e-cigarettes among experienced adult e-cigarette users can be comparable to that from conventional cigarettes."  Given that e-cigarettes an the associated products are widely marketed using social media through less than reliable sources with far less regulation than conventional cigarettes, this is a cause of concern.  The fact that e-cigarettes are addictive has also been downplayed.
More details on the dangers of smoking e-cigarettes may be found at this link  Be aware that there are many Social Media Pages and adds dedicated to marketing e-cigarettes and vaping products to young people by presenting them as harmless, don't be fooled!  Many of these sites are disreputable and unregulated and the quality and content of the products being sold is highly questionable.
