Powerlan scoops deal with Hunter Hall Investment Management

Hunter Hall International Limited, Australias largest dedicated ethical fund manager, is implementing Powerlans market leading asset management and investment accounting software product, Portfolio Manager, to administer its funds in-house.
Portfolio Manager is an asset management and accounting software system that has been widely adopted by fund managers, wrap providers, trustees, custodians, banks, stockbrokers, insurance companies and financial planners. The system is scaleable, efficient and easy to use.
Powerlans flexible pricing approach allows us to pay an ongoing monthly rental fee for software and support, as opposed to a large upfront licence and annual software maintenance fee, which better suits our needs, said Justin Templer, Finance and Administration Manager at Hunter Hall.
We also needed to find a vendor solution that not only satisfied our current needs but also had the potential to grow with our business, said Templer. Powerlan was an obvious contender with an investment administration solution that supports both asset management and unit registry functions within one single system.
Templer was also impressed with Portfolio Managers local ownership and design. Powerlans Australian heritage provided comfort in terms of ongoing compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements, he said.
Powerlan Managing Director Theo Baker said the deal was significant in that it reinforced Powerlans decision to offer its new monthly pricing model, allowing users to pay an ongoing monthly rental fee for software and support as opposed to a large upfront licence and annual software maintenance fee.
