Primus Telecom Makes Broadband Even More Accessible

Primus Telecoms Internet division, iPrimus, has reduced the price of its Broadband in a Box ADSL solution, making high-speed Internet connection even more widely available to customers throughout Australia.
Broadband in a Box is the first product of its kind, allowing users to purchase a complete broadband service connection for homes and businesses in one convenient package from a retail outlet.
The fully-packaged broadband product is a joint initiative of Primus Telecom, leading retailer, Harvey Norman, and modem supplier Quadtel.
The iPrimus Broadband in a Box is available from Harvey Norman, Grace Brothers and Electronic Boutique for $299, down from $369 including an 11-month contract with iPrimus Jetstream ADSL.
Weve taken the complexity out of the broadband connection process, and made it simple, quick and accessible for everyone, said Campbell Sallabank, iPrimus General Manager.
ADSL allows Internet download speeds up to thirty times faster than standard dial-up connection, high-resolution images, and does not require a separate telephone line.
The Broadband in a Box product includes the ADSL modem, cable, complete instructions, and an 11-month contract.
ADSL connections are used in the workplace with great success, yet many people are not aware that they can actually get the same speed benefits at home quite easily, said Sallabank.
iPrimus is proud to be the first provider of this revolutionary retail product, and by making the product more affordable, even more people will be able to benefit from access to the broadband service.
The Australian market acceptance of broadband is impressive. Quadtel alone has sold close to 10,000 xDSL modem units in one year alone, amounting to some 12 per cent of the total market.
We expect this figure to soar over the coming months as the merits of such connections are more widely adopted. The iPrimus Broadband in a Box is certainlya way forward for absolutely everyone to get connected, without barriers, said David Ramsay, Interim Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of Quadtel Ltd, David Ramsay.
