Cortex appoint new director of sales

Cortex eBusiness, one of Australia's leading Java solution providers, has appointed David Garnier as Sales Director.

Based at Cortex Sydney headquarters, David will be responsible for managing the local and global sales for Cortex solutions, as well as the development of partnerships to further extend the company's range of e-business services.

"David's appointment is taking place at a crucial stage in the development of Cortex," outlined Mr Peter Moore CEO. "We have recently completed three comprehensive projects in Japan, Korea and Hong Kong with a strategic partner and, combined with ongoing opportunities in Australia, we want to ensure that Australian e-business managers fully understand Cortex expertise in Java business solutions."

Prior to joining Cortex, David held the position of General Manager, Enterprise Solutions at Peakhour. Within this role, David identified and developed partnerships with organisations implementing internet and e-commerce strategies. He was directly responsible for the company's current contract for web service provision to Pacific Access.

Previous roles include Regional Vice President, Sales and Major Opportunities with UUNet (now WorldCom) at which David managed and expanded Asian Pacific sales channels, together with further developing and implementing sales and account management methodologies.

David's career in technology kicked off with a ten year stint with Logical Solutions.
