Primus Telecom Teams Up With iPass To Offer International WI FI Access
Primus Telecom Australia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of McLean, Virginia-based PRIMUS Telecommunications Group, Incorporated (NASDAQ: PRTL), today announced that it will be teaming up with iPass to offer customers access to the wireless 'hotspots' in the iPass Global Broadband Roaming service.
Primus Telecom's partnership with enterprise connectivity services provider iPass is the first of its kind in Australia and will provide corporate customers secure, easy-to-use and convenient connectivity over broadly available wireless Internet 'hotspots' around the world.
"This partnership is part of our innovative broadband strategy which aims to expand wireless services and provide superior quality coverage to our customers," said Campbell Sallabank, Primus Telecom General Manager Product Development, Product Management/Strategy.
"In addition to the current Australian 'hotspots' provided on the Azure network, new and existing Primus customers will be able to utilise high-speed broadband wireless technology via the iPass virtual network at selected airports, hotels and convention centres in a Wi-Fi network that currently spans 17 countries," said Mr Sallabank.
The iPass 'Enterprise Ready' access points provide employees and mobile professionals with secure access to information and applications on their corporate network from approximately 150 countries across the globe.
The benefits to consumers may include increased employee productivity while travelling, higher bandwidth than traditional dial-up services, and common user interface designed to minimise the need for user training.
