CA to donate up to $1,000 a try to Barnardos each time the Brumbies score in this year's Vodafone Super 12
ACT Brumbies Foundation sponsor, Computer Associates has announced it will donate up to $1000 per try to children's charity, Barnardos each time the Brumbies score in this year's Vodafone Super 12.
Called the "Tries for Kids" program, Computer Associates will donate $500 to Barnardo's each time the Brumbies score a try up until the fourth try of a match. For each subsequent try $1000 per try will be donated.
The Brumbies scored a total of 52 tries last season, including 10 against the Cats. Captain George Gregan sees today's announcement by Computer Associates as a great way to support such a worthy cause.
"Computer Associates have always been at the forefront of sports sponsorship and 'Tries for Kids' will provide a terrific benefit to Barnardo's in assisting with their Kids Plus sport program," said Gregan.
"Whether the Brumbies score tries at home or away this season, we'll know that not only are we benefiting on the scoreboard, but that the kids at Barnardo's will benefit as well."
Computer Associates Managing Director in Australia, John Ruthven says the commitment to Barnardo's will provide sporting opportunities to a wide range of children.
"Computer Associates has made a commitment to Barnardo's to assist with the Kids Plus sport program and the donations will give kids who may not have had the chance to play a number of sports an opportunity to get involved," said Ruthven.
"The Brumbies have always played exciting and entertaining rugby and we are looking forward to plenty of 'Tries for Kids' in 2003."
