Andrew Young appointed CEO of Alcatel Australia



The President of Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Andrew Young, will take up the role of Chief Executive Officer of Alcatel Australia, effective January 1, 2004

Alcatels Executive Vice President and President of Asia Pacific, Christian Reinaudo said, Andrew Young was appointed to the CEO Australia role after successfully completing the start-up phase of Alcatel Shanghai Bell over the past two years. He has played a significant leadership role in the consolidation of Alcatels major businesses in China into Alcatel Shanghai Bell, and the establishment of the company as a major global R & D and manufacturing center for Alcatel.
Andrew will now bring his extensive global experience and expertise to Australia, where he will lead the team to deliver profitable business results for our customers and Alcatel.
Andrew brings to the role more than 25 years experience in telecommunications. He joined Alcatel Australia in 1979 and since then has held a wide range of positions spanning manufacturing, operations, services and sales. Before moving to Alcatel Shanghai Bell Andrew was President of Alcatel Taiwan and before that he held a number of senior management roles in Australia.
