Brennan IT brings Microsoft Hyper-V support to its cloud platform

Predicts at least 15% of its cloud customers will be using Microsoft Hyper-V in 2012

2 February, 2012, Sydney, Australia: Rounding out its portfolio of cloud offerings, leading cloud computing provider Brennan IT today announced that it will bring Microsoft Hyper-V to its cloud platform. The move follows the company’s recent $1.5M upgrade of its Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform as it gears up to meet rising demand for its cloud services.

Brennan IT sees Microsoft Hyper-V support as key to expanding their cloud operations and predicts that at least 15 per cent of their cloud customers will be using Microsoft Hyper V in 2012.

With cloud revenues expected to account for 30 per cent of Brennan IT’s business with in the next 12 months, managing director Dave Stevens says the move is a reflection of the market’s demand for proven cloud solutions and supports the company’s position as a one-stop destination for mid-market businesses looking for a cloud services partner.

“It’s all about offering our customers choice,” said Mr. Stevens. “We recognise that many businesses have Microsoft platforms in place and may not be comfortable moving to a VMware vSphere cloud environment. The move allows us to cater to the growing number of businesses that are choosing Microsoft for cloud services. It also provides us with additional capacity to meet the growing demand we are seeing in this space.”

To support its decision to bring Hyper-V to its existing cloud offerings, Brennan IT will further extend its investment in new hardware, deploying an enhanced platform built on CISCO UCS B series servers, with Nexus 5Ks switchers and ASR 9Ks routers for networking and EMC storage.
Mr. Stevens says the upgrade will increase the capacity, performance and functionality of Brennan IT’s infrastructure to better support the delivery of Hyper-V, as well as allow the company to deploy more efficient cloud solutions and simplified management tools.

“Our investment in the cloud doubles every nine months,” said Mr. Stevens. “While others talk, we’ve been delivering, consistently working to develop new features and products for our IaaS customers, many of whom were early cloud adopters.”
