Clearswift brings out the big guns SpamLogic anti-spam technology

SpamLogic is a self-training, anti-spam solution integrated into Clearswifts flagship MIMEsweeper for SMTP software and its new MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance.

SpamLogic is a major part of the defenses of the new MIMEsweeper Appliance. Existing MIMEsweeper for SMTP customers using versions 4.3, 5.0 and 5.1 will also benefit, with the new SpamLogic technology to be provided as a free update to supported customers.

SpamLogic incorporates the latest advances in anti-spam technology with a revolutionary self-tuning Bayesian engine. It couples lightning fast statistical email filtering with automatic whitelisting and known-bad URL checks. Textual analysis helps SpamLogic understand the terms and tricks spammers use to bypass traditional anti-spam solutions.
Organisations can use the Clearswift web-based management interface to easily manage their spam and quarantine lists. Additional defenses that strengthen SpamLogics accuracy and coverage include:
Auto-whitelisting SpamLogic monitors email traffic to differentiate spammers and legitimate e-mailers;
Real-time blacklisting High-volume inbound traffic and new senders are weighted as more suspicious, increasing the heuristic accuracy;
Sender policy framework and sender ID Two industry initiatives which put the burden of authenticity on the sender; and
Tar-pitting When SpamLogic detects too many messages from the same host to non-existent addresses it assumes a directory harvest attack is in progress and slows down all mail from the hosts addresses.
