Dave Brewer and two time Grammy Award winner plays sunday@subi
Dave has
recorded multiple albums with various acts as well as his own album ‘Life of
Riley’ released to popular acclaim in 2008. With The Mighty Reapers Dave Brewer
has provided support for many visiting blues acts including BB King, Albert
King, Buddy Guy, Screaming Jay Hawkins and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Dave has toured
nationally, as well as touring Canada and Europe, where the band performed at
both the Montreal and North Sea Jazz festivals.
In 2000, Dave moved from Sydney back to his hometown of Perth and since then
has been playing regularly with his own band, the Dave Brewer band, The Lucky
Oceans band, with Natalie Gillespie, Diamond Dave, the DooDaddies and others.
Dave Brewer said as the majority of our performances are geared towards a dance audience, the upcoming sunday@subi show gives us the perfect opportunity to play a selection of our compositions that we rarely play.
“The Subiaco Arts Centre encourages musicians to create that special moment, that is often hard to find in most situations," Dave said.
Joining Dave and his band this Sunday, is Lucky Oceans - considered to be one of the most influential slide guitarists the world has produced, and also known for producing Planet, a world music program on Radio National.
Make sure to put this afternoon with some of Perth’s finest musical talent in your diary and be early to ensure a seat at what is destined to be a ‘sell-out’ event.
Tickets are free and are available on the day from 1.15pm, with concerts starting at 2pm and finishing at 3.30pm, including a short break to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine from the Subiaco Arts Centre bar.
The
sunday@subi series is a free community concert series that covers a mix
of themes
and genres suitable for all ages. The series runs every Sunday from 18
