OBS delivers Victoria's IT Project of the year!
An innovative, large scale email solution, based on Microsoft Exchange 2010 has won the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) Information Technology Project of the Year Award.
The solution, developed for the Victorian Government's Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) is the largest Australian State or Federal government sector implementation of Microsoft Exchange 2010 and the second largest Exchange 2010 project delivered in the southern hemisphere in the last 12 months.
"The DEECD Exchange 2010 project was a complex project requiring careful planning, deep technical skills for integration work and the ability to co-ordinate a large cross section of the Department's Information Technology subject matter experts. We are extremely proud of the recognition from AIPM and we are thrilled to celebrate yet another successful project with the team" said Andy Neumann, Managing Director of OBS.
This project impacted over 78,000 Victorian teachers, principals and Department staff. "eduMail" (as the systemis known internally) is a critical business system within the Department and seamless integration was required to ensure minimal disruption to the delivery of teaching to Victorian students across the state.
Working closely with the Department's governance team, OBS was able to combine its attention to detail and project management abilities to ensure the project was delivered on time and successfully. OBS is proud to have been a key participant in this project and looks forward to similar success with the Department on future projects.
